Where it goes, and what color
The two parts print separately, so they can be different colours. What you pick here decides the filament, and the filament decides the price.
Pick the same colour twice for a matching lamp, or two for a contrast. Each part is priced on its own filament.
Specialty filament — priced at JOD/kg.
The base
What stands on the table and carries everything above it. Its width is what keeps the lamp upright, so this step decides more than how it looks.
The bottom dot is the floor, the top dot is the neck. Keeping the widest part low is what makes the lamp hard to knock over.
Bored through a collar that stands proud of the neck, plus clearance because printed holes come out tight. The shade’s cap is cut to that same collar, so it drops over it and is located by it — one number, both parts, and no harp to buy.
Base texture
The surface printed into the base wall. Unlike the shade, no light comes through it — this is about how it catches a lamp’s own glow from above.
Twist rotates the texture as it rises. Past a point the wall cannot follow it — the printability check will say so before you export.
The shade
The top shape. Same shade the pendant designer makes, turned over: its cap is at the bottom, where it drops onto the base’s neck. It still prints the other way up — wide end on the plate, cap at the top, so nothing flares out over thin air. You turn it over to fit it.
Turn it off to see the base and its collar while you work. Nothing about the design, the price or the exported files changes.
Drawn as the shade sits: the bottom dot is the cap end that drops onto the base, the top dot is the open mouth. Widening upward is free — it is printed the other way up.
Finish
How finely both parts print.
Standard — 0.6 mm layers. The fastest run, and what most bases are printed in.
Premium — 0.4 mm layers. Finer lines and a smoother surface; it spends longer on the machine.
Export
One zip holding two binary STLs, millimetres, Z-up, each already sitting on the plate. The base prints with perimeters and a solid floor — not vase mode. The shade is a single continuous wall: slice that one spiralised.
